The annual Dundee Flower and Food Festival is back, with loads of events and activities on offer for those interested in gardening and fine cuisine.

Food connoisseurs will enjoy watching cookery demonstrations from various guests, including the flamboyant celebrity chef Ainsley Harriott, who will give top-class tips on how to create delicious dishes.

There will also be a food marquee with over 40 trade stands, where visitors can pick up some tasty treats from the country’s best producers to take away with them, as well as food tasting on-site.

Keen gardeners will be able to have all their queries answered at the question and answer sessions which will run throughout the weekend, and they’ll pick up some tips from the demonstrations given by The Bayer Garden Road Show.

As the event hosts national and international competitions - such as the World Potato Championship and the World Gladioli Championship - visitors will also get the opportunity to see some of the most impressive amateur gardeners' exhibits on show in Britain.

And Chris Beardshaw, well-known from his gardening TV show, will be making an appearance, as will Frieda Morrison, who will be hosting a recording of The Beechgrove Potting Shed.

Don’t worry about the kids being bored - the Children's Marquee, which houses fun-filled activities and events such as face-painting, puppet theatre, and arts and crafts – will keep them entertained for hours.

There will even be some music performances from various groups, including the Kate Gieben Band and the Dundee Instrumental Band.

Last year’s festival attracted a massive 26,000 visitors - don’t miss it!

The Dundee Flower and Food Festival 2008 is on at Dundee’s Camperdown Country Park from September 5-7.
